Abstract:

Millennials is the generation born around 1980 will make up nearly 75% off the global workforce in the next decade. Th is generation like no other in world history is changing the workplace in every industry, every organization and country boundaries are not obstacles. Th is generation that is just now moving past the entry level positions in every dental practice in the world, is slowly but certainly advancing and making their mark on your practice. Th is millennials generation is the most highly educated generation in human history. Th ey have never known a day without mobile phones, the internet, social media or world terrorism. Communications skills, human interaction, building relationships with staff and patients are all areas this generation struggles with and will continue to do so, potentially harming dental practices and offi ce dynamics across the globe. Th is presentation will provide a look at what makes up this generation, what drives them every day and how we, the organizations and leaders are on the hook to integrate each of them into our offi ces, how we can infl uence them to utilize their many talents to advance dental practices in any country and infl uence the next generation of offi ce staff leaders and managers. Th is presentation will help dentists, staff supervisors, offi ce managers and even millennial themselves to understand where they are coming from, how they got there and how we can understand them a little bit better. Dental practices worldwide are dealing with staff and patients from this exciting generation and this is an opportunity to learn about the millennials and how to eff ectively communicate and engage them to enhance and advance your dental practice, your business and your staff engagement.
