Abstract:

Aflatoxins are toxic secondary metabolites produced by Aflatoxigenic fungi: Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus parasiticus and Aspergillus nomius. These aflatoxins cause many diseases to human, animal and plants. Regulatory gen aflR regulates aflatoxin biosynthesis pathway. One hundred of pelted poultry feed samples from different broilers and broiler breeders?? farm and from poultry feed stores and markets were collected. Fungi were isolated by culturing on PDA agar and MEA agar and sub-cultured on SDA agar. In total, 50 Aspergillus flavus strains were isolated and 34 of them were positively characterized as aflatoxigenic strains with size of 798 bp for aflR primers.
