Abstract:

Otolithes ruber with rather fusiform body and silver color has an appearance that customers like it. On the other hand, people pay attention to this species because of having palatable meat with white and solid tissue from past years. In the present study, comparison of omega6 fatty acid amount in female and male of Otolithes ruber in Abadan and Khorramshahr costal water was studied between December 2013 and June 2016. Measurement of fatty acid was done by gas chromatography Agilent- 6890 set. Comparison of types of fatty acid amount was performed by anovain SPSS (VER16) software. Results of this study showed that in male and female species omega6 fatty acid in 3 steps including. Before sexual maturation, peak of sexual maturation and after spawning had significant difference at 0.5 level. Maximum and minimum of fatty acid amount were related to after spawning and before sexual maturation in both male and female species, respectively.

Biography :

Mojgan Khodadadi has completed his PhD from Islamic Azad University, Tehran Branch. He is the Supervisor of Zynabe Bavi, a Master Student of Aquaculture. He had published more than 50 papers in reputed journals (ISI and ISC) and has been serving as an Editorial Board Member of repute. He is working as a Managing Editor in Marine Biology Iran and Ecobiology of Wetland.
