Abstract:

In this research, a thick succession of the Jahrum formation at the Kuh-e Kurdeh, interior Fars of the Zagros Basin, southwest Iran was studied and compared with the Jahrum formation in Kuh-e Gach, southeast of Lar area. The Jahrum Formation is one of the most important petroleum reservoirs in the Zagros Basin in Iran. The purpose of this article was to study the benthic foraminifera and introduce assemblage zones for this formation. Based on the occurrence of 26 genera and 37 species of benthic foraminifera, two faunal assemblages of benthic foraminifera is introduced and assigned to the Eocene age.
