Abstract:

Rapid industrialization and increase in the population are the clear signs for more waste to be managed. This is what exactly India is going through. Along with the world??s fastest economic growth, India needs to manage an increasing chunk of solid waste to maintain the sustainability. The old ways of waste disposal like landfill or burning cannot sustain the current requirement. The situation demands an integrated approach starting from the design stage of the product to the ways of final disposal. Therefor the purpose of this paper is to analyze the relation between the factors of solid waste management for sustainability. These findings will be highly useful for professionals from solid waste management community to bring sustainability in solid waste management. However for generalization of findings empirical study need to be carried out.
