Biography

Dr. Dong is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Center for Diabetes Research at Indiana University School of Medicine. His research focuses on the pathogenesis of diabetes and obesity and related complications. Specifically, his laboratory investigates the pathophysiological functions of forkhead box O transcription factors (Foxos) and NAD+-dependent deacetylases (sirtuins). Prior to the appointment at Indiana University, he got his B.S.in Biology from Shandong Normal University and Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular and Developmental Biology from the Ohio State University. He also received postdoctoral training in diabetes and metabolism from Joslin Diabetes Center and Children\\\\s Hospital Boston of Harvard Medical School.

Research Interest

Dr. Dong's research focuses on the pathogenesis of diabetes and obesity and related complications. Specifically, his laboratory investigates the pathophysiological and metabolic functions of forkhead box O transcription factors (Foxos) and NAD+-dependent deacetylases (sirtuins).
