After obtaining her Ph.D. from Utkal University, India, Dr. Kanungo served as an Assistant Professor at the Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (India). She then pursued post-doctoral research at the University of Florida, Gainesville, with a Rotary Foundation International award. Dr. Kanungo has published a number of book chapters and 47 peer-reviewed papers, 37 of which are indexed in the PubMed. Following many years of service as a Research Scientist at the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Kanungo serves as an Investigator/Lead Scientist at the National Center for Toxicological Research, US Food and Drug Administration where she is leading a nationally recognized zebrafish research program.
