Prostate cancer (CaP) is considered as a vexing challenge for clinical management because of its resistance to the conventional therapies, resulting in most deaths from this disease. The current treatment options including castration shows minimal effect, as most of the patients develop resistance and relapse of more aggressive Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer (CRPC). BMI1 (B cell-specific Moloney murine leukemia virus integration site 1), an oncogenic member of the polycomb group gene family and a transcriptional repressor has emerged as a key regulator in numerous processes including proliferation, differentiation, senescence, and stem cell renewal.
