Biography
Main research interests are malaria, HIV/tuberculosis and co-infections, viral haemorrhagic fevers, travel medicine, vaccine immunology in the immune-compromised patient and general infectious diseases topics as they arise from clinical practice. MPG has published approximately 450 scientific papers to date, promoted 17 German Dr. med. candidates, numerous Bachelor and Master students as well as over a dozen PhDs, predominantly from African countries, is Eijkman Medal Awardee as well as Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians London (FRCP).
