Biography
Maria Teresa De Magistris holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Siena (1982) and followed training in Molecular Biology and Immunology at the University of Toronto, Canada. Since 1985, she has worked in several pharmaceutical and biotech companies (Chiron and Sclavo in Siena, Cytel in San Diego, California) as a principal investigator in the field of vaccine and adjuvant discovery and development. She played a primary role in the development and clinical testing of a new recombinant vaccine against pertussis, which was commercialised by her employer.
