Pu Jian graduated her doctoral course from the University of Tokyo in March, 2011 and joined as a project researcher in the Integrated Research System for Sustainability Science (IR3S) at the University of Tokyo

Her background is environmental engineering. Her research is mainly on: 1. Development and verification of a model to predict waterborne infectious diseases posed by changes in natural and human environment 2. Phyto-remediation of heavy metals from contaminated soil 3. Environment and natural resources research in rural area of China
