Biography

Emil Kozarov, main objectives of work are 1) To define and assess the diversity and composition of the atherosclerosis microbiome, expanding the repository of clinical isolates recovered from human atheromatous specimens using our innovative cultivation approach, 2) To comprehensively sequence and assemble the genomes of the prevalent in atherosclerotic tissues bacterial isolates, using high throughput NGS sequencing, and 3) To create the first public genomic database of the atheromatous tissue-associated microbial community, and a clinical isolate collection of the members of the atherosclerosis microbiome
