Biography
He graduated with a PhD from Michigan State University Crop and Soil Science Dept. in 1993. My thesis project was with Dr. Mike Thomashow and I was involved with cloning the first cold-regulated genes from plants. I also did the initial characterization on the regulation of COR78 (RD29 and LTI78). I used phylogenetic foot printing to identify the putative (now proven) CBF binding site controlling the expression of the original 4 COR genes.
