Biography
Dr. Maruf is currently working as a Research Scientist and an Adjunct Assistant Professor is the Departments of Psychiatry and Physiology & Pharmacology at the University of Calgary. Dr. Maruf is a Pharmacist in training and earned a Master's degree in Clinical Pharmacology and a PhD in Toxicology. Dr. Maruf is currently investigating the roles of genes and the environment and their interactions in psychiatric drug response. His overarching research goal is to develop a Knowledge to Action (K2A) research program to facilitate the clinical implementation of pharmacogenomics (PGx) to guide safe, effective, and cost-effective pharmacotherapy.
