Serum Calcium Level in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Khartoum State

The present work is a cross-sectional study aimed to evaluate the serum levels of calcium in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, in Khartoum state. This study was done during the period of January to March 2017. The sample size is sixty including both male and female. calcium and Glucose were measured by Spectrophotometer (Biosystem-BTS310). Data were analyzed using SPSS. The results showed a significant reduction in the mean serum calcium level of diabetic patients (p-value-0.000). However there was an inverse correlation between the serum calcium and (duration, age) of diabetes mellitus, p-value was (0.000, 0.026) R-value (-0.437, -0.287), respectively. This study is effect by age and duration of diabetes in the studied group.
