The visual diagnostics of early caries is an extremely important part of the examination, but it cannot detect the changes in the enamel that take place before the occurrence of visible changes It is the aim of this research to conduct an experiment that will allow us to compare visual observation, the radiographic method, laser fluorescence with DIAGNOdent and the verification with histological examination. The conducted experiment in vitro aimed at validating the results obtained with DIAGNOdent in the diagnosis of the process of caries shows that this method can give us real results, corresponding to the actual picture of the process. The sensitivity of the method is considerably bigger compared to the method of visual observation, which was conducted separately. It creates possibilities both for an early diagnosis and for the specification of a diagnosis at any stage of the caries process.
